BACK TO CHURCH SUNDAY

The Diocese has appointed Sunday, September 26, 2010 to be “Back To Church Sunday,” when every member of every congregation in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island will be encouraged and equipped to ask a friend back to church, or to come to church for the first time. We will be looking at what we are inviting people to "come back to," and why we would want to extend that invitation.  If we accept that Christ is alive and active in life-giving ways in our faith community, then we must surely have the privilege and the duty of sharing that with others.  We are, after everything is said and done, "church" - the body of Christ - to our friends and neighbours.  We will be looking at what gets in the way of extending a simple invitation to those around us for whose spiritual well-being we are concerned, as well as how that kind of invitation can be most effectively extended.  Look on the Diocesan website www.nspeidiocese.ca for more information about "Back to Church Sunday" or you can google "Back To Church Sunday".
